Future PathCareer path exploration

For parents of undecided college students

Before they pick a major, let them test-drive a few futures.

A structured, parent-led sprint that helps your college student turn “I don’t know” into 2–3 real options, and check them against the real world before the next registration deadline.

7-day look-inside refund · Do-the-work guarantee · Built by a dad, for his own kids first

Choosing blind is the expensive part

Changing majors is common. Changing majors late is expensive: an extra semester can cost more than a used car. Most students aren’t choosing badly. They’re choosing blind.

The usual options each miss something:

  • Career tests give labels, not next steps.
  • Campus career centers are stretched thin, and most students don’t go until junior year.
  • Private career coaches can be excellent, and they run $1,500–3,500.
  • ChatGPT can help, if someone knows which assessments to trust, what to ask, how to keep it all straight, and how to turn the answers into something your kid will actually do. That’s weeks of work.

And the hard part isn’t information. It’s getting a 19-year-old to try something real, and then making sense of what happened.

How it works

A 14-day sprint, then a 6-week reality test

  1. 1 Discover days 1–7

Your student takes four well-regarded assessments. A workbook captures the results in one place. TODO(name the four assessments)

  2. 2 Make sense of it days 8–14

A guided prompt system turns the results into a plain-English Working Profile and a path report: 2–3 compelling future paths, not a list of limiting job titles. Your student marks what sounds like them and what doesn’t.

  3. 3 Test it weeks 3–8

Your student picks one path and runs a small, real experiment: an informational conversation, a day shadowing someone, a mini project. A scorecard captures what they learned.

  4. 4 Decide

A short decision memo: deepen, broaden, pause or drop. Plus a 90-day plan, ideally finished before the next registration deadline.

Your role as a parent: sponsor, not boss. The Parent Playbook shows you what to say, what not to say, and when to step back.

Build it yourself, hire a contractor, or move in ready

All three are good choices. It comes down to whether you have more time or more budget.

Why I built this

I built the thing I wanted for my own kids

I’m a dad. When my own kids started facing the “what’s next?” question, I went looking for something that would help them explore compelling future paths, not limiting job titles, and be ready for a working world that AI is changing fast. I couldn’t find it.

I build AI systems for a living, so I built the thing I wanted. It wasn’t quick: weeks of vetting assessments, copying results back and forth, three or four full rebuilds before the output was right. When it was, I was honestly blown away by what came back.

Future Path is that system, cleaned up so you don’t have to spend those weeks. Take it yourself, or let us walk alongside your kid.

The guarantee

Two guarantees, one after the other

1. Look inside for 7 days

Stage 1 (the Parent Playbook, the Assessment Guide, the workbook and the worked example) opens immediately. If it’s not for you, ask for a full refund within 7 days. No questions.

2. Do the work, then decide

The prompt system and the rest unlock when you submit assessment results, or on day 8. Finish the program within 90 days, including one real experiment and the decision memo. If you’re not satisfied, we’ll refund you in full. We’ll ask one question, “what didn’t work?”, because your answer makes this better.

Why it works this way: once the full method is in your hands, it can’t be handed back. So we ask you to use it before judging it. That’s the fairest deal we know how to offer. Full guarantee terms.

Done With You: full refund if you decide not to continue after the kickoff session. Done For You: pay per milestone and stop after any phase.

What this does not promise

Honest limits, because you’re trusting us with your kid:

  • It won’t tell your kid what to be. It helps them test what might fit.
  • It’s not therapy, licensed counseling or psychological testing.
  • It can’t guarantee a major, a job, an admission or an income.

Questions parents ask

Can’t we just do this with ChatGPT for free?

Partly, and the kit uses AI. The free version costs time: picking trustworthy assessments, writing prompts that don’t produce generic advice, keeping results organized, and turning it all into an experiment your kid will actually run. It took the founder weeks and several rebuilds. The kit is that work, done.

How much of my kid’s time does it take?

About TODO(hour estimate) hours across the 14-day sprint, then one experiment over the following weeks.

Do the assessments cost extra?

TODO(list the four assessments and any fees, exactly)

What do we need besides the kit?

TODO(e.g. an AI assistant account; confirm free vs. paid)

What happens to my kid’s information?

You decide what goes into any AI tool. We explain what to share and what to leave out. For Done With You and Done For You, advisors work under a confidentiality agreement. Full details are in our privacy policy.

My student is 16–17. Does that work?

Yes. Under-18 students need a parent’s consent for advisor sessions and any real-world experiments, and we follow safeguarding rules for minors.

Is this only for college students?

It’s designed for college freshmen and sophomores who are undecided or second-guessing. High-school seniors can use it too.

Can I use the kit with more than one kid?

Yes. The household license covers every child in your family.
